The girl with april in her eyes
There once was a King, who called for the spring
For his world was still covered in snow
But the Spring had not been for he was wicked and mean
In his winter fields nothing would grow

And when a traveller called seeking help at the door
Only food and a bed for the night
He ordered his slave to turn her away
The girl with April in her eyes

Oh oh oh on and on she goes
Through the winter's night
The wild wind and the snow
Hi hi hi on and on she rides

Someone help the girl with April in her eyes

She rode through the night till she came to the light
Of a humble man's home in the woods
He brought her inside by the firelight she died

And he buried her gently and good
Oh the morning was bright all the world was snow-white
But when he came to the place where she lay
His field was ablaze with flowers on the grave

옛날에 봄이 오길 몹시 원하던 왕이 있었지
그의 왕국은 아직 눈으로 덮여 있었거든
하지만 사악하고 못된 왕에겐 봄이 찾아오지 않았지
추운 들판엔 아무 것도 자라지 않았어

어느 날 나그네가 문을 두드리며 도움을 청했다네
먹을 것과 하룻밤 묵을 잠자리를 달라고
그러나 왕은 하인을 시켜 소녀를 쫓아보냈지
눈 속에 봄을 담은 그녀를

그녀는 끝없이 걸었지
차가운 겨울밤을
매서운 바람과 눈보라를 뚫고
그녀는 정처 없이 걸었지

누구 눈에 봄이 가득한 소녀를 도와줘요
그녀는 밤새 헤맸지 그러다 불빛을 발견했어
그건 숲 속에서 소박하게 살고 있는 한 남자의 집이었지
그는 소녀를 안으로 데리고 들어갔지만
그녀는 따뜻한 불가에서 숨을 거두었다네

그는 소녀를 정성껏 잘 묻어주었지
밝은 아침이 왔을 때 온 세상은 하얀 눈으로 덮였는데
그녀가 묻힌 곳에 가보니
무덤 위에 꽃이 만발해 있었다네

눈에 4월의 봄을 담은 소녀
오 그녀는 끝없이 걸어갔지
겨울밤을 내내
매서운 바람과 눈보라가 몰아치고
그녀는 끝없이 날아갔지

1948년생으로 아르헨티나 부에노스 아이레스에서 태어남
그는 POP에 기반한 독특한 느낌의 락스타일을 구사하는 그의 음악은 영국이나 미국같은
팝/락의 본고장 보다는 북유럽과 남미쪽에서 더 큰 인기를 얻었다.

그는 히트 싱글 'The Lady In Red' 를 비롯한 수많은 히트곡들을 남겼는데
현재까지 그의 앨범들은 세계적으로 4천 5백만장 가량 판매된 것으로 집계되고
있으며, 그의 딸 Rosanna Davison은 2003년 미스 월드이기도 한다.
그의 스테이지 네임은 자신의 어머니가 처녀 때 쓰던 이름이라고 한다.
